Today we move from our home of seven years in Rugby, Warwickshire to Milton Keynes. This blog will - in the months and years to come - record my observations on life in the iconic city, which has grown up in the county of Buckinghamshire.

You can expect to read reviews of pubs; restaurants and places of entertainment that I visit. As a keen lover of jazz there will be regular pieces about the Stables, Wavendon - where Deborah & I already enjoy attending the Sunday morning "Jazz Matters".

I will be following MK City Pathfinders - the American Football team which plays home games at Manor Fields, Bletchley - and the ice hockey team MK Lightning, who are based at the Leisure Plaza close to Milton Keynes Station. No doubt I will watch a bit of baseball (Baseball MK) and basketball (MK Lions).

History is my passion. Over the last few evenings I have been reading Sir Frank Markham's "History of Milton Keynes and District" - and as I learn about the history of the area, I will share with you what has fascinated me. We will be living in Furzton - which is bordered to the East by Watling Street, Englands greatest Roman Road which ran from Dover to North Wales.

I hope you'll visit this site. It may be a little slow to get up to speed - I will have limited access to the internet (and will be quite busy putting everything in its proper place in the new house) for a short while. I'm looking forward to becoming a citizen of Milton Keynes - and sharing my experiences with you.
